Departure to the Callejón de Huaylas – Carhuaz
Departure at 8:30 am toward the Callejón de Huaylas; along the valley we will admire the majesty of the Cordillera Blanca. We will make a stop to visit the town of Carhuaz and taste its delicious ice creams made from natural fruit; we will visit its main square and the church of San Pedro, home to the image of the Virgen de las Mercedes (Mama Meche).
Yungay (Campo Santo) – Laguna Llanganuco
Our tour continues through the villages of Toma and Mancos. We arrive in the town of Yungay (Yungay Campo Santo), from where you can see the highest peak in Peru, Nevado Huascarán (6,768 m). Then we will enter Huascarán National Park, into the Llanganuco gorge, to admire the scenic beauty of Laguna Llanganuco Chinancocha (3,850 m). Here you can take a boat or horse ride, or walk around the lake enjoying the landscape surrounded by flora and fauna.
Caraz – Taricá
In the afternoon we will head to the town of Caraz to visit its main square, cathedral and a dairy products factory. We will end our tour visiting the Taricá craft center and a demonstration at a ceramics factory.
